(Top40 Charts/ Cielo PR) - ROBOTS continue their attack on all living things and operating the latest offensive weapon system, the flying saucer-ROBOTS can now destroy humanoids by raining destructive laser beams upon their cities from 300 miles in space. The ROBOTS Evil Leader has taken the battlefront to the outer limits and the ROBOTS space invasion begins now!
Overview of 'remembering your ROBOTS':
New York City 's minimal house techno & electro party originally started as a weekly event called "ROBOTS Stole My Daddy's Pants" at Open Air and then Cafe Deville in 2003 on Thursday nights with residents Nick AC and Dennis Rodgers. With android dreams of killing all humans for a peaceful machine-dominated world, a new version of the weekly party was launched at Table 50 on Wednesday nights, adding Bill Patrick to the resident roster and what we now know as "ROBOTS" was created on June 16, 2004.
What ROBOTS have achieved in the last 3 years: Returning to Cafe Deville on October 20 2004, ROBOTS established an extremely loyal following that became known as the "u.r.a" (underground robot alliance). Consisting of local djs and partygoers who were attracted to the 'no-nonsense' music policy, the u.r.a. became a way of life. Bigger one-off shows were soon added at Canal Room, Love, Brooklyn Sugar Factory, Hiro Ballroom, Cielo, Pacha and a yearly ROBOTS party at B.E.D. in Miami started in 2005 during the Winter Music Conference, with special guest Sven Vath, gained ROBOTS considerable recognition. Concluding the weekly party at Cafe Deville on July 21 2006, ROBOTS began a new monthly residency at Cielo on Sept. 21 2006. In the last year alone, ROBOTS have presented Francois K, Joel Mull, Dominik Eulberg (nyc debut) and Ada live, Three, Trentemoller live(nyc debut) feat. DJ Tom, Collabs 3000, Matthew Dear and Ryan Elliot, Superpitcher, Troy Pierce and Marc Houle live with Ambivalent live (world debut), Dandy Jack and the Junction SM with Pier Bucci, Tiefschwarz (W.M.C. at B.E.D. in Miami), Dinky, Sven Vath, Luciano with Digitaline live (nyc debut), Michael Mayer with Gui Boratto live (nyc debut), and now ROBOTS presents Swayzak Soundsystem at Cielo on June 28th 2007 to celebrate the ROBOTS 3 year anniversary!
Swayzak Soundsystem:
David "Brun" Brown and Roger "23" Reuter met in Saarbrucken , Germany in 1998, where Roger runs a record store. Strutting around town, Brun and his swayzak partner James Taylor, came across the store as it closed but promised to return the next day to spend $$$. On their return Roger introduced them to some fine, and strange music. Roger became one of Swayzak's biggest supporters and they have remained friends and collaborators ever since.
Serieculture – Originally based on the human league's 'being boiled' lyric 'saying stop your sericulture'.
Taken from a swayzak live recording in Luxembourg 2001, and then edited by roger 23, the result was released 'serieculture 1-4 ' on swayzak imprint 'voltmusik' in 2005. The mispelt word formed an idea.
Initially Brun and Roger 23 began as 'Swayzak Soundsysytem', playing fabric's room three for up to 8 hours at a time. The 'soundsytem' idea was a way of djing together, but felt they need a different identity to match the music they play! from minimal house to industrial, bizarre 80's obscura via Detroit techno, electro, and heavy dub. They are never shy to throw in a old italo classic or of course the human league.
The 'serieculture' dj's are different to many. Discerning with their taste in music, It is a one on one, ping pong dj set, each record a challenge to the other! Designed to lay pressure on the dancefloor and reminiscent of old jamacian soundsystems , chaos can be the order!
Roger 23 releases through swayzak 's 240 volts , voltmusik and germany 's Playhouse records. Brun, one half of swayzak releases thru k7,and runs the 240 Volts record label. They have just released their first collaboration 'old man sorrow' on voltmusik (vmk006) .
Regulars at Fabric in London, Pressure in Glasgow, Watergate in Berlin, and Babylon in Istanbul. They also played cities and festivals from Antwerp , Amsterdam , Bari , Copenhagen , Frankfurt, Funchal, Ghent , Lausanne , and Vicenza , to name but a few, but this will be Swayzak Soundsystem's debut in New York City for ROBOTS 3 Year Anniversary at Cielo!
