NEW YORK (Sex Pistols Fans Website) - The Sex Pistols are to play their first show in the United States for six years at an all-day punk festival in California in September.
The show, called Inland Invasion, will follow their one-off Jubilee reunion concert, which took place in London in July.

Other veteran UK punk bands, including The Buzzcocks and The Damned, are also on the bill and will be joined by a new generation of US punks.

The younger bands to play will include Blink 182, who have had hits with All the Small Things and Rock Show, and Offspring, best-known for their singles Pretty Fly (For a White Guy) and Why Don't You Get a Job?

Filthy Lucre

The second annual Inland Invasion festival will take place at the 65,000-capacity Blockbuster Pavilion in Devore, California, 100 miles east of Los Angeles, on 14 September.

The Sex Pistols' singer John Lydon, formerly Rotten, now lives in Malibu, California.
The band last appeared on a US stage when they played 19 shows as part of their 1996 Filthy Lucre world tour.

The Queen's recent Golden Jubilee provided the basis for the release of a remix of their 1997 hit God Save the Queen, which reached number 15 in 2002's UK chart.

'Jaded'

Lydon used the London show to rage against Prime Minister Tony Blair and the euro, and the gig was described as "damned good" by one critic, but "a nightmare" watched by "jaded, drunk troops" by others.

The Inland Invasion, staged by radio station KROQ, will also feature bands including Pennywise, Social Distortion, Bad Religion and TSOL.

Last year's festival featured Incubus, Weezer, the Offspring, Social Distortion, and Pennywise.
