NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Atlantic recording group Shadows Fall has unveiled details of its upcoming co-headline tour. The Operation Annihilation Tour sees the acclaimed metal outfit joining forces with the one-and-only Static-X for a series of dates slated to kick off on Friday, October 5th at Piere's in Fort Wayne, Indiana (see itinerary below). Sharing the bill on all dates will be 3 Inches of Blood and Divine Heresy. Additional dates will be announced shortly.

Tickets for all announced dates will go on sale to the public this weekend, Friday, August 24th and Saturday, August 25th. A special pre-sale ticketing system will be available to members of the bands' mailing lists and websites. In addition to standard pre-sale tickets, Premium and VIP packages will be offered that include t-shirts, tour posters, and a meet-and-greet with Shadows Fall and Static-X. For complete pre-sale details, please see https://tixx1.artistarena.com/operationannihilation.

A special "Spend Halloween With The Operation Annihilation Tour" premium text messaging sweepstakes is slated to begin on Saturday, August 25th. Entrants can text to receive exclusive wallpaper and be entered to win a trip for two to see the tour's October 31st stop at Anaheim's House of Blues. See www.shadowsfall.com for more information.

Shadows Fall has also announced the second single from its breakthrough new album, "THREADS OF LIFE." "Another Hero Lost" is set to impact Active Rock and Mainstream Rock radio outlets nationwide, beginning on August 27th. The track follows the album's introductory single, "Redemption," which reached No 1 at Metal radio earlier this year while also spending 12 weeks in the Active Rock Top 40. What's more, "Redemption" is among the featured tracks in EA Sports' just-released video game blockbuster, "Madden NFL 08."

A companion video for "Another Hero Lost" will go into production this week. The clip will meld live performance with personal stories and photos from Shadows Fall fans, telling of their own individual heroes. For details regarding submissions, please visit the band's official site - www.shadowsfall.com - or its MySpace page, at www.myspace.com/shadowsfall.

The band - who recently wrapped a seven-week-long summer stint with Hot Topic sponsored annual Sounds of the Underground roadshow - will get ready for Operation Annihilation with a short series of East Coast dates, including stops in Maine, Vermont, Pennsylvania, New York, and Virginia. The lineup for these shows will include All That Remains, Protest The Hero and The Showdown.

Melding full-on thrash power with melodic, pulverizing hooks, Shadows Fall is without question the preeminent metal band of its day. The Springfield, Massachusetts-based five-piece's just-released new album, "THREADS OF LIFE," is shaping up as its most successful work to date. Produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver), the album has drawn rapturous critical praise from a wide range of national publications. Spin described "THREADS OF LIFE" as "Ferocious hardcore precision, like the metal gods intended." Alternative Press awarded the album 4.5-out-of-5 stars, hailing "the old-school headbanging of standouts like 'Redemption' and 'Forevermore'" and "the monster fretboard heroics of 'Final Call.'" The review went on to celebrate the collection as "the most unashamedly 'true' metal album any major label's released yet this year - and it's also one of the best." In its 10-out-of-10-starred rave, Outburn declared "THREADS OF LIFE" to be "a true success that is bound to be buried in praise from critics and fans alike... even those who are typically skeptical of American metal are advised to check this one out."

In addition to the many rave reviews, Shadows Fall has been featured on the cover of such prestigious publications as Revolver, Outburn, Metal Edge, Metal Maniacs, and Modern Drummer, with additional cover appearance slated in future issues of such magazines as Hails and Horns. Other recent press includes features and reviews in Blender, Spin, Entertainment Weekly, Penthouse, WWE, Billboard, Hit Parader, Decibel, Guitar World, Drum!, Bass Player, Bass Guitar, and Guitar One.

In its first decade in existence, Shadows Fall has blazed an extraordinary trail, earning a 2006 Grammy Awards nomination for "Best Metal Performance," reaping critical acclaim from metal mainstream and hardcore underground alike, and touring the planet virtually non-stop. Among the band's recent touring highlights are headlining Hot Topic's Sounds of the Underground tour (with GWAR, Chimaira, and Every Time I Die) and the 2007 Jagermeister Music Tour (with Stone Sour and Lacuna Coil).

Shadows Fall is: Matt Bachand - guitar, vocals; Paul Romanko - bass; Brian Fair - vocals; Jason Bittner - drums; Jon Donais - lead guitar, vocals
