Miami, FL. (Top40 Charts/ SmokeTree Records) - Florida-based singer-songwriter Jeff Coffey has been named the winner of American Idol Underground Spring 2007 Pop Competetion for his song "Long Way Home".
The title track off his latest release, an autobiographical pop-rocker about life on the road, was also the most added song for two weeks in a row on the FMQB AC40 chart, and quickly broke the Top 15; just ahead of Coffey's No 14 slot are current hits by Fergie, Plain White T's and Gwen Stefani.

" I feel privileged to have won the competition. 'Long Way Home' seems to have taken on a life of its own" said Coffey after learning of his 1st place win.
