Austin, TX. (Top40 Charts/ Virtuoso Pop Recordings) - Eric and the Wreckage, a newly formed project by Eric Lindberg, invite the public to the kickoff of a fall tour as support for
Buddy Miles. First show is
September 12, 2007 in
Santa Barbara, California. The shows continue through California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Utah. (See website for tour dates and locations.)
Eric and the Wreckage have announced that this tour coincides with the debut of their eponymous album to be released by Virtuoso Pop Recordings tentatively on September 12, 2007.
Lindberg comments on the record, "The soul of this music is the Blues but we aren't here to make a point of it. The attempt on this album is to relate to the listener on a more direct, visceral level and as a result the themes are ones that I think most humans are a little obsessed with like love, food and touch. Oh yeah, and at times, it's just plain comical."
The 10 track song list includes: Made to be Admired, Hungry Again, Lady Luck, I'll Never Tell, and I Did Nothing to Deserve This, as well as others.
Eric and the Wreckage is a three piece band playing blues, rock, soul and jump with inimitable toughness and virtuosic playing. Consisting of Eric Lindberg on guitar and lead vocals, Mark Donovan on drums and vocals and Rob Jewett on Bass and vocals, the band brings not only top shelf instrumental performances but also tight, three-piece harmonies in addition to noteworthy original songs not always associated with blues outfits.
On the upcoming tour, Buddy Miles will be backed by the members of Eric and the Wreckage as well as Mike Kindred, Piano/Organ for the tour and composer of Stevie Ray Vaughan hit "Cold Shot."
