LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/
Fall Out Boy Fans Website) - Today
Fall Out Boy announced that what happens in
Vegas will not stay in Vegas. They have dubbed their MTV Video
Music Awards suite in Las
Vegas the "FriendsorEnemies" suite as a shout out to their devoted fans, and throughout the weekend will be shooting photos of themselves and their friends from their personal cameras and sharing them with their fans who they communicate and connect with regularly on https://www.friendsorenemies.com, the band's favorite fan community. The multi-platinum, two-time MTV VMA award-winning group is nominated in two categories this year - for the ultra-competitive Monster Single of the Year Award ("Thnks Fr The Mmrs"), and the equally competitive Best Group Award.
"If it weren't for our fans, we'd most likely be sitting around at someone's apartment in Chicago this Sunday watching the VMA's," said Pete Wentz, bassist for Fall Out Boy. "Since we can't bring our fans along to Vegas with us, we're packing our cameras so that we can bring as much of Vegas to them as we can. I guess we better behave ourselves!"
In addition to being the place that Fall Out Boy will call home during their stay in Sin City this weekend, the Suite will also serve as the stage for both Fall Out Boy's and Gym Class Heroes' performances at the broadcast, which happens live on MTV from the Strip in Las Vegas on Sunday night, September 9th, at 9:00 p.m. (ET)/8:00 (C).
Joining Fall Out Boy, their friends, fellow VMA nominee Gym Class Heroes, Panic! At The Disco, Cobra Starship, and William Beckett and Mike Carden from The Academy Is ... will also be posting personal photos from their special FriendsorEnemies phones to the website while in Las Vegas. In addition, Cobra Starship front man Gabe Saporta will hit the red carpet on Sunday as the reporter for the site interviewing all the stars.
Not long after the VMA's, Fall Out Boy will kick off the 'The Young Wild Things Tour' with supporting acts Gym Class Heroes, Plain White Ts and Cute Is What We Aim For. In conjunction with the Fall arena tour, Fall Out Boy is giving their fans opportunities to be the stars by running a contest on FriendsorEnemies.com for fans to submit their own personal video showcasing their talent. The winner for the best video will co-host a Fall Out Boy show in their geographical area. The tour kicks off October 18th in Columbus Ohio at Schottenstein. Dates will run through December 2nd.
