NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ GIANT Magazine) - The fame. The power. The drama.
Jennifer Lopez pulls back the curtain in a revealing cover interview for GIANT Magazine, with 12 pages of sultry pictures. In the issue, set to hits stands October 8, the Puerto Rican beauty chats about the pressures of fame, ditching pesky paparazzi and controlling her destiny.
Outlined below are select passages from GIANT Editor-in-Chief Smokey D. Fontaine and features editor Celia San Miguel's exclusive conversation with J Lo entitled: 'The Brave One.'
ON BRITNEY, LINDSAY AND PARIS
'People wonder why Britney or Lindsay or Paris is acting crazy, but they don't know what it means not to be able to walk outside your house. 'Oh, but she has 10 million!' they say, but that doesn't help when you can't feel good! I feel so bad when I see people going through the beginnings of it. Because it's not fun. You just have to learn how to navigate it, 'cause if you don't, it will eat you up. When you can't come out of the house with your kids and have them in your arms and be able to just take them down the street and have a hot dog without being bombardedthat's gotta be hard.'
ON AVOIDING THE PAPARAZZI
'(When it first began) I actually started having little anxiety attacks. You don't want to come off as a crazy person, but one time I was working with one of my girls, and we wanted to go out and we didn't know how to get out of the house. So I decided to climb in the trunk of our Range Rover! You know that little shade that hooks over the trunk? I got in there and pulled it over my body thinking, 'This is so crazy.''
ON WORKING WITH HUSBAND MARC ANTHONY
'Life is funny. You never know where it's going to take you. From the day Marc and I met, we've always had amazing chemistry, but the timing has to be right. I don't think five or six years ago was the right time for us (to work together) I had just been through a difficult time, in my life and work, but Marc just felt that I was in the right headspace. I didn't even know I could sing like that. But Marc gave me that confidence. He knew I was going through a difficult transition time in my life, and I had a lot of pain and confusion and happiness and joy and gratefulness and all these confused things going on. But he just knew. He was like 'She can do this right now.' He's my best friend'
