BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) - Wakefield, UK punk rockers THE CRIBS have just confirmed their North American tour scheduled to begin next month in Montreal and end in Los Angeles early December in support of their album, "MEN'S NEEDS, WOMEN'S NEEDS, WHATEVER."
Blood, chaos, mania, torn clothing, stolen shoes, hospitalization... just another day in the life of the Jarman brothers who, along with their fans, know a thing or two about having a good time (almost) all of the time. This past weekend, during a show at the Academy in Birmingham, Cribs vocalist/guitarist Ryan Jarman passed out after hurling himself into the audience. Over-excited fans ripped off most of his clothing before security could rescue him from the pit. He was revived and finished the show. Doctors cited dehydration and fatigue as the cause for his blackout. Two days later, following a show in Sheffield, bassist, vocalist, twin-brother Gary Jarman was admitted into the hospital after complaints of pain in his arms which turned out to be blood poisoning, believed to have been caused by cuts from his bass guitar strings. Gary has been prescribed antibiotics and was released in time to perform at last evening's show in Norwich. Both Ryan and Gary are fine. Younger brother, drummer Ross Jarman is great and isn't particularly bothered by anything.
Despite their recent tour of the local clinics, The Cribs have enjoyed a wildly successful year, which has included dangerous pop-scenes, headline-grabbing tours of the UK, triumphant festival gigs at Glastonbury, T-In The Park, V-Fest, Rock en Ring, a pair of sold-out US tours, and three more hit singles from a smash album in England. The fact is, "MEN'S NEEDS, WOMEN'S NEEDS, WHATEVER" remains one of the most critically acclaimed debuts of the year. Here in the US, The Cribs have won over massive crowds at the Coachella, Bamboozle and Lollapalooza festivals and performed live on NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." The band's ever-growing American audience can't seem to get enough.
"Unlike the countless terrible Brit pop dawdlers puffed-up as 'the next biggest band ever to hit the earth since Jesus,' this three piece actually has songs. And lyrics. And sneaky ennui. And a sense of humor. In short, be prepared to believe the hype this time. We're impressed: self-aware, smart and stupendously hooky, The Cribs are a real life 'next' band worth checking for." - Blender
"A holler-along Brit-punk gem. The Cribs deliver the tour de force they had in them, and it's about time." - Rolling Stone (4 Stars)
Following another tour of Japan later this month, The Cribs will return to the US and Canada for their biggest American headline tour to date. Ticket pre-sale details can be found at: https://thecribs.frontgatetickets.com/. All confirmed dates are listed below.
