Black & White Years will make their first ever New York City live appearance during the CMJ
Music Marathon on Wednesday, October 17, 10 p.m. at R Bar, located at 218 Bowery, New York City.
Jerry Harrison first saw The Black & White Years performing live in a parking lot during this year's SXSW Music Festival and was immediately taken by the quirky arrangements and lyrical themes of their songs. The next day, Harrison, visited the band at their house in Northeast Austin where they performed about 25 songs for him in their living room. Five weeks later Harrison had the band in his studio, Sausalito Sound, recording their debut album. Jerry Harrison, who is legendary as a member of the Talking Heads is equally known for his work as a producer for such artists as The Von Bondies, Violent Femmes, Live, Foo Fighters, General Public, No Doubt and many others. The album was engineered and mixed by Eric E.T. Thorngren.
