New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ JayCut) - A Brooklyn-based band call Mudville is experimenting with this new form of entertainment by allowing fans to create their music video on the Internet. Mudville's collaborative music video project on www.jaycut.com consists of footage shot by Mudville and a combination of videos and pictures uploaded by fans.

Mudville first attempted using YouTube to invite their fans to help create a music video for their hit song "Joy" off of their newly released album called "Iris Nova."

"We had mixed results when we first posted the call-out video on YouTube asking fans to help us make our music video," said Marilyn Carino, songwriter/vocalist of Mudville. "It was difficult to get our fans to participate when they knew they had to start from scratch to develop an entire music video. With JayCut, we're able to get the ball rolling for them by uploading videos and pictures from our performances so they had some content to start with. The site also had a quick way for us to set up a Mudville group within www.JayCut.com where fans could join, giving them easy access to our footage, pictures, and the mp3 of 'Joy.' "
For years, fans have been capturing live performances with easy-to-use digital cameras and uploading them to the web. JayCut provides a place for fans to post music, pictures and footage to combine into a music video without the need for traditional editing software.

"We were really excited when we heard about JayCut's on-line editing tools. They enable our fans to get involved in a variety of ways, ranging from only remixing the media content we uploaded, to only using content they uploaded, or a combination of both," said producer/bassist Ben Rubin (a.k.a. Benny Cha Cha) of Mudville. "Social Networking sites have been a big part of how we reach out to our fans. The great thing about JayCut is that it centralizes our video content, allowing us to embed and post video made on JayCut directly to our more established profiles like MySpace and FaceBook."

JayCut seeks to be the unparalleled place to go for collaborative video projects. Beyond giving them the tools to remix videos, JayCut grants its members the choice to broadcast their video projects within its own community or across the entire web.

Mudville reaches ever more stirring and soulful musical heights with their third release, Iris Nova. Critics are calling Mudville's latest album "... Powerful to the point of bringing you to tears [with songs that can rank alongside major-league acts like Radiohead, U2 or even R.E.M" (Straight No Chaser). "Joy" is a deep and juicy blend of four-on-the-floor disco beats and modern electronica with live orchestral flourishes. It's songwriter/vocalist Marilyn Carino's call to celebrate life!
