NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Asbury Music Award) - Jersey Shore singer/songwriter BOB BURGER has received three 2007 Asbury Music Award nominations in the categories "Top Male Vocalist;" "Top Pop Band," for his self-named Bob Burger Band and "Best Thing to Happen in 2006/2007," for his spontaneous performance alongside Jon Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffet and Roger Waters at a party hosted by Bon Jovi at his East Hampton estate last September. This is the third consecutive year BURGER has been acknowledged with nominations by the Awards' panel of local music industry veterans. The Asbury Music Awards Show will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the Stone Pony, 913 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

2007 has been a stellar year for BOB BURGER beginning with the December, 2006 release of his second solo album Surprise Party (BIG BRAVE Music) which has been reviewed as "a combination of adult contemporary rock-n-roll spirit with inherent flair for infectious melodies and commanding lead vocals" (www.bitmunk.com). His busy touring schedule in support of Surprise Party was highlighted by multiple appearances as a member of Bobby Bandiera's Jersey Shore Rock-N-Soul Revue, a concert series presented by Count Basie Theatre, opening engagements for national recording artists Hootie and the Blowfish, Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes and Gary U.S. Bonds and finally an impromptu jam session of musical legends including Jon Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffet and Roger Waters at Bon Jovi's Labor Day Hamptons bash which captur! ed the attention of local and national media outlets and spawned a number of interviews including New York Daily News headlines and an on-air appearance with Jim Kerr on the Jim Kerr Rock-N-Roll Morning show on New York's classic rock station, Q104.3 (interview available at https://www.phantompowerproductions.com/kerr-burger-090507.mp3).

BOB BURGER has previously been awarded The RIAA's Gold Record award in 1998 for his work with Glen Burtnik (Styx) on Edge Of A Century, and was a 1990 quarter finalist winner in the American Song Festival for his solo composition Turn Away. In addition to the Asbury Music Award nods, BURGER received many local awards for his debut album Cymbals At Dawn (BIG BRAVE Music, 2003) including Upstage Magazine's "Search For Intelligent Nightlife" selection as best album for 2003 and Kweevak.com's "Best CD of the Year" award for 2003.

Now a coveted credit for local independent artists (bands and individuals represented by major labels are not eligible), the Asbury Music Awards premiered in 1993 the vision of Scott Stamper, co-owner of The Saint, and Peter Mantas, co-owner of Airplay Records. The Awards were originally created as a response to the area's longstanding live original music scene and were inspired by a desire to "give something back" to the fans and the community. A panel of industry veterans including local promoters, sound technicians, radio programmers and club owners are responsible for selecting award nominees, show performers and hosts/emcees. Voting is not open to the general public, however, a strategic voter selection process ensures that record stores, radio stations, area clubs, music-related businesses, newspapers and local music enthusiasts are all represented in the final tally.

BOB BURGER'S website, www.BobBurger.com features exclusive news and updates, a concert calendar, free downloadable music, links to relevant entertainment resources and sneak previews of upcoming projects and promotions. Surprise Party and Cymbals At Dawn are available for purchase at several online retailers, most notably www.amazon.com, www.cdbaby.com and iTunes and at local retailers Jack's Music Shoppe in Red Bank, New Jersey.

BOB BURGER is currently finishing up 2007 with limited dates in Monmouth County including a performance alongside Bobby Bandiera at his All Star Benefit Show for the Valerie Foundation at Count Basie Theatre on December 21 and is working on completing his upcoming Christmas Can't Wait LP scheduled for a holiday, 2007 release.
