 NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ VH1) - Jay-Z performed for a few hundred lucky fans during a taping of VH1 Storytellers on October 24 at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn, New York. Fans can watch this exclusive performance when "VH1 Storytellers: Jay-Z: Life of an American Gangster," premieres Thursday, November 8 at 9pm. The hour-long show features Jay-Z performing eight songs off of his upcoming album, American Gangster, (Roc-A-Fella Records) which is inspired by the film of the same name. Throughout the show, Jay-Z is backed by a 12-piece band and a large projection screen which surrounds the stage as he performs, enveloping him in imagery that relates both literally and figuratively to the lyrics in his songs. Following in "Storytellers" format, viewers will get a unique opportunity to hear the inspiration and stories behind each song. All songs performed are from Jay-Z's upcoming album American Gangster, "Pray," "Dreamin," "Roc Boys," "Sweet," "Party Life," "I Know," "Fallin," and "Blue Magic."
