New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Yep Roc Records) - Indie rockers Bell X1, already huge in Ireland, are making inroads in the United States as well. U.S. tastemakers have embraced the Irish band, whose new album 'Flock' (February 19/Yep Roc) marks its U.S. debut. Vanity Fair has called X1 "the biggest band in Ireland" while HARP Magazine Online muses, "Bono and Co. may want to watch their backs." In one of its first "Forkcast" columns earlier this year, Pitchfork Media reviewed the band's song "Flame" remixed by UK DJ crew Chicken Lips. The group has appeared twice on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic, including a visit playing songs from 'Flock'. Listen here. KCRW host Nic Harcourt interviewed X1's Paul Noonan live on air, telling him, "I had a great time coming to one of your gigs down there [at SXSW]." The O.C. used Bell X1's "Eve, Apple of My Eye" as the soundtrack for the most talked-about moment in the show's history, the beach kiss between Marissa and Alex. You'll be hearing a lot more from Bell X1 in 2008. New Yorkers, mark your calendars for a January 16 showcase at Joe's Pub.
