Celebration, FL. (Top40 Charts/ One Eleven Records) - One Eleven Records (The Spill Canvas, Rookie of the Year) is proud to announce the signing of the Santa Monica, CA-based stepsonday to their roster. The band's debut LP "little light" will be released on March 18th, 2008. A free download of the track "Same Difference" is now available at the band's Myspace page - https://www.myspace.com/stepsonday

Stepsonday, brothers Jason Turner (vocals, guitar, bass) and Chad Turner (drums, vocals) have written a consummate album of thoughtful, melodic and intelligent rock songs. The brothers Turner, sons of a Central California preacher, are masterful students of pop music with their influences casually shining in their art. Growing up on the west coast, their early love of records from The Beatles, The Who, Nirvana and The Clash to contemporaries Nada Surf, Weezer and Death Cab For Cutie have taught them the importance of writing songs that are emotional, literate, and sonically developed. Says frontman Jason Turner, "I often use metaphors in my lyrics to creatively paint pictures....making the messages a bit more universal."
For the brothers, it has been a long trying path to "little light". The band recorded the album on their own dime before garnering the attention of One Eleven Records owner, Brad Fischetti. "I knew from the first line of the first song I heard that I had to work with stepsonday. They write important songs that resonate with the listener."

"Little light" was produced by Nick Rucker (Plain White-T's, Yellowcard, Rock Kills Kid) in Los Angeles at Doug Messenger Studios, The Ship (Aaron Epsinoza of Earlimart's collective space) and Rucker's home studio in Orange, CA. It was here in Rucker's home studio where Jason Turner tells us the album's title was born. "When I was recording vocals for the album in Nick's bathroom, he had this tiny little night light. It was the only thing I could see while I was tracking vocals. It was very comforting, and that's what I'd like our music to be."
