 Los Angeles, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Lakeshore Records) - Lakeshore Records released the original motion picture soundtrack for WRISTCUTTERS: A LOVE STORY on October 30, 2007. The soundtrack features original music by Bobby Johnston (EDMUND, KING OF THE ANTS) and songs by artists including Gogol Bordello, Joy Division, Mushman and Screaming Lord Sutch. Zia (Patrick Fugit), distraught over breaking up with his girlfriend, decides to end it all. Unfortunately, he discovers there is no real ending, only a run-down afterlife that is strikingly similar to his old life, only a bit worse. Discovering that his ex also offed herself, he sets out on a road trip, with his Russian rocker friend, to find her. Their journey takes them through an absurd purgatory where they discover that being dead doesn't mean you have to stop livin'. Composer Bobby Johnston's music has been featured extensively on the radio program "This American Life". Called "a new voice in film" by Film Score Monthly, his soundtrack for KING OF THE ANTS earned him critical praise in film music circles.
