New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ CineMedia Promotions) - The soundtrack to one of this year's most anticipated dramas, The Kite Runner, featuring original music by Spanish composer Alberto Iglesias will be released on Edge Music on November 20th.

Based one on of the most acclaimed novels in recent memory, The Kite Runner is a profoundly emotional tale of friendship, family, devastating mistakes and redeeming love. In a divided country on the verge of war, two childhood friends, Amir and Hassan, are about to be torn apart forever. It's a glorious afternoon in Kabul and the skies are bursting with the exhilarating joy of a kite-fighting tournament. But in the aftermath of the day's victory, one boy's fearful act of betrayal will mark their lives forever and set in motion an epic quest for redemption. Now, after 20 years of living in America, Amir returns to a perilous Afghanistan under the Taliban's iron-fisted rule to face the secrets that still haunt him and take one last daring chance to set things right. The movie is directed by Golden Globe nominee Marc Forster (Finding Neverland, Monster's Ball).

The Academy Award-nominated composer, Alberto Iglesias is also highly-acclaimed for a number of soundtracks he wrote for Academy Award-winning director Pedro Almodovar's films, including Hable Con Ella. Some of his other past work includes Volver and The Constant Gardener. In addition to the original orchestral music by Iglesias, the soundtrack also includes original songs by legendary 70's Afghan singer Ahmad Zahir, Ehsan Aman and the world-renowned British singer of Iranian-Azerbaijanian background Sami Yusuf.

Alberto Iglesias is rapidly growing in popularity after being sought after by many major Hollywood studios and winning a string of awards in Europe for his film scores. After studying music in his home city of San Sebastian, Barcelona and Paris, he went on to compose music for the ballet and concert halls as well as developing a strong association with music for the cinema. The film music of Iglesias is firmly rooted in classical sounds but displays influences from many different styles such as Spanish Flamenco and Latin music.

DreamWorks Pictures, Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Participant Productions Present THE KITE RUNNER, a Sidney Kimmel Entertainment Production and Parkes/MacDonald Production released by Paramount Classics on December 14.
