LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Viagogo) - Europe's leading secondary ticketing company viagogo (www.viagogo.co.uk), has today teamed up with
James Blunt to auction tickets for his upcoming UK tour. All of the proceeds from the auctions will go to James' favourite charity Medicins Sans Frontieres (www.msf.org/unitedkingdom/index.cfm). The charity provides medical aid wherever needed, regardless of race, religion, politics or sex and raises awareness of the people they help.
James has given viagogo two premium tickets for each of his twelve UK dates, kicking off at the Carling Academy in Glasgow on the 9th January and culminating at the Rivermead Reading, on the 23rd January. Successful bidders will not only receive the two premium tickets, but will also have the opportunity to meet and be photographed with James and will be given signed merchandise including CDs and T-shirts. Fans should go to www.viagogo.co.uk/James-Blunt-Tickets for the chance to bid for these once in a lifetime tickets and raise money for the MSF.
James Blunt said, "I am really looking forward to kicking off the UK leg of my tour as playing to a home crowd is always special. I hope people will get involved in this auction to raise money for MSF. It is a fantastic cause and a very worthy recipient - happy bidding."
Eric Baker, CEO of viagogo, added: "We are delighted to be working alongside the UK's biggest artist and are over the moon that James' management chose viagogo to run the auction. We believe that the live music sector and the secondary ticketing market can work exceptionally well together and we hope our combined efforts will raise a substantial sum for MSF."
