NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ American Recordings/ Columbia Records) - The New York-based band OURS has landed the coveted support slot opening shows on the upcoming
Marilyn Manson tour beginning January 19 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando, Florida, and ending March 2 at the Verizon Wireless Theater in Houston,
Texas (please see full itinerary following).
One of the year's most highly-anticipated releases, the long-awaited third OURS studio album, "Mercy (Dancing for the Death of an Imaginary Enemy)," will be available on-line and in-stores on Tuesday, March 18. The first OURS album to be released on American Recordings/Columbia Records, "Mercy (Dancing for the Death of an Imaginary Enemy)" is produced by Grammy-winning Producer of the Year Rick Rubin (Linkin Park, System Of A Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and co-produced by OURS frontman Jimmy Gnecco. The album premieres 12 new OURS tracks showcasing the band's lushly textured sound propelled by the incandescent vocal intensity of singer Jimmy Gnecco. "Gnecco's voice is a beautiful instrument," proclaimed Rolling Stone, "huge and emotional but never cloying."
Tracks on "Mercy (Dancing for the Death of an Imaginary Enemy)" include: "The Worst Things Beautiful," "Black," "Get Up," "God Only Wants You," "Live Again," "Lost," "Mercy," "Moth," "Murder," "Ran Away To Tell The World," "Saint Down The Hall," and "Willing."
OURS closed out 2007 with a successful North American tour with Circa Survive. With a growing reputation for powerful and unforgettable live shows, OURS has toured with The Cult, The Wallflowers, Pete Yorn and others.
OURS was formed in 1992, and built a strong deeply loyal following playing shows around New York City. By 1997, the band had sparked a label bidding war, and when the smoke settled, had signed a deal with DreamWorks Records. For the group's first record, Distorted Lullabies, OURS worked with legendary producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, Rolling Stones, Morrissey). Released in 2001, the OURS debut was met with critical praise and fervent fan appreciation. OURS' single "Sometimes" enjoyed heavy rotation at both radio and MTV2. OURS followed up Distorted Lullabies in 2002 with Precious, helmed by critically acclaimed producer Ethan Johns (Kings Of Leon, Ryan Adams).
OURS is: Jimmy Gnecco (vocals, guitars), Pit (drums), Static (guitars), Race (bass guitar) and Locke (guitar, keyboards).
