NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Atlantic Records has announced the release of "STEP UP 2 THE STREETS - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK," the musical companion to the upcoming Touchstone Pictures dance film. Due in stores and online on February 5th, the album features tracks from a number of today's top artists, highlighted by Flo Rida's current No 1 single, "Low (Feat. T-Pain)." "Step Up 2 The Streets" is slated to open in theaters nationwide on February 14th.

Along with "Low," "STEP UP 2 THE STREETS - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" gathers new tracks from a stunning line-up of hip-hop and R&B superstars, including Cassie (who also appears as one of the film's stars), T-Pain, Enrique Iglesias, and Cupid (see below tracklisting). Six-time Grammy Award winner Missy Elliott is featured on two brand-new tracks - "Shake Your Pom Pom" and "Ching-A-Ling" - due for inclusion on her eagerly awaited new album, tentatively slated for release this May. Companion videos are currently in production for a number of songs from "STEP UP 2 THE STREETS - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK," with tracks also set to impact at multi-format radio outlets across the country.

"Low (Feat. T-Pain)" is quickly proving the first blockbuster single of the New Year, instantly marking Flo Rida as one of the hottest new voices in hip-hop. The track has just arrived atop Billboard's "Hot 100," while also ascending to the No 1 position on a variety of other charts, including "Hot Digital Songs," "Hot Digital Tracks," and "Hot RingMasters," and the "Pop 100." In addition, "Low" remains the No 1 best-seller at iTunes, where it has now reigned supreme for seven consecutive weeks.

Furthermore, Flo Rida is also lighting it up at radio, with "Low" currently ranked at No 1 at Rhythmic outlets nationwide, The track is also bulleting its way up the top 10 at CHR/Top 40, with countless stations reporting it as their No 1 most-requested song.

Among the other spotlight tracks on "STEP UP 2 THE STREETS - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" are such explosive hit singles as a remix of Trey Songz' "Can't Help But Wait (Feat. Plies)" and Plies' own "Hypnotized (Feat. Akon)." Both tracks are currently dominating Urban radio, with Songz' original version of "Can't Help But Wait" peaking at No 1 on the Urban airplay charts and top 10 on the Rhythmic ranking. In addition, "Hypnotized" is now No 4 at Rhythmic, having just entered the Urban Top 20. Further, Plies and "Hypnotized" are currently bulleting up the CHR/Top 40 national airplay chart.

"Step Up 2 The Streets" is the follow-up to the smash hit "Step Up," which ignited theaters in August 2006. When rebellious street dancer Andie (Briana Evigan) lands at the elite Maryland School of the Arts, she finds herself fighting to fit in while also trying to hold onto her old life. When she joins forces with the school's hottest dancer Chase (Robert Hoffman) to form a crew of classmate outcasts to compete in Baltimore's underground dance battle, The Streets, she ultimately finds a way to live her dream while building a bridge between her two separate worlds.

This coming-of-age dance film stars newcomers Briana Evigan, Robert Hoffman ("You Got Served," "She's the Man"), Telisha Shaw, Adam G. Sevani and Bad Boy recording artist Cassie, whose "Is It You" is featured in the film and on the soundtrack.

Featuring the directorial debut of award-winning up-and-comer Jon Chu, "Step Up 2 The Streets" reunites much of the production team behind the original film, including "Step Up's" cutting-edge hip-hop choreographer Jamal Sims, who is joined this time by choreographers Hi-Hat (acclaimed as "hip-hop's high diva of dance") and Dave Scott ("Stomp the Yard"). Patrick Wachsberger & Erik Feig of Summit Entertainment produce with Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot of Offspring Entertainment.
