Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ 1720 Ent.) - New country sensation Rissi Palmer will release her sophomore single "Hold On To Me" to radio on January 28. The song, co-written by Palmer is a strikingly melodic love ballad. "This was one of the first songs I wrote in Nashville and my second opportunity to write with two great songwriters, Shaye Smith ("There is No Arizona") and Ed Hill ("It Matters To Me")" says Palmer. The song is really personal to me and has become one of my favorites on the album."
"Hold On To Me" is definitely a change of pace compared to the first hit, "Country Girl," which was an up-beat, blues-tinged anthem that called on women everywhere to embrace their inner country girl. Both were co-written by Palmer and are from her self-titled album that was released in October 2007.
Although "Hold On To Me" has an add date of January 28, several country stations across the nation have already added the song to their play lists and are receiving remarkable reviews.
Music Row Magazine says, "She's country to the core on this plea for a lover's trust. The melody is ultra commercial, the key change toward the finale sends chill bumps and the twinkling mandolin and fiddle notes at the fade tickle the ears. I'd certainly add this to my playlist, and you should too."
Palmer has packed a lifetime of milestones into the past year as she established herself as one of country music's most promising young stars. Her impressive rise has drawn attention from fans and critics, as well as national media such as People Magazine, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Billboard, Country Weekly and Rolling Stone, to name a few. Her first single, "Country Girl" was included on an exclusive EP released by Starbuck's on iTunes and was chosen for their "Song of the Day" campaign. She was recently featured in the newly launched "Wal-Mart Mobile," store and has achieved Top Ten and Top Five rankings on MySpace, and iTunes, respectively. Rissi's first video received significant airplay on CMT and GAC, and her debut at the Grand Ole Opry was one of the most emotional and well-received in recent memory, leading to several return engagements, including the televised portion. Palmer has also performed during the American League Championship Series and at several NFL games, including the Pittsburgh/Jacksonville playoff game.
Palmer is currently impressing fans and critics alike as she tours the country, taking her new material to live audiences. She'll be performing in the Winter Dance Bash with country band Sawyer Brown on February 15 in Hoffman Heights, IL and on February 16 in Onamia, MN.
