Hannah Entertainment, in conjunction with Harrah's Entertainment, is proud to announce the inaugural Fourth & Goal Classic'a two-day charity event for the benefit of Fourth and Goal, an independent national non-profit public benefit corporation established as the official 'Voice' of the NFL retiree and to provide financial assistance to retired NFL players and their families who are in immediate need.
The Fourth & Goal Classic is scheduled to be held June 27 and 28, 2008 at the House of Blues at Showboat Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The event kicks off Friday evening, June 27, with a VIP Opening Reception. Saturday's fun-filled schedule will boast a Celebrity Golf Tournament (at the prestigious Atlantic City Country Club), Meet and Greet and a live concert to close out the festivities.
Exclusive to the Fourth & Goal Classic, Tracy Lawrence, Tracy Bryd and Pat Green will come together in a special one-time only performance for the benefit of Fourth and Goal. The leading men of country will take the stage at the House of Blues Music Hall to perform Saturday evening, June 28.
Lawrence, whose music career spans over 16 years, has proven himself as a formidable stylist in the country music format. He has celebrated successes with gold and platinum sales and 17 No. 1 singles including "Alibis," "If The World Had A Front Porch," "Time Marches On," "Sticks And Stones," and "Paint Me A Birmingham." He's lent his No. 1 hit 'Find Out Who Your Friends Are' (2007) to the organization as the official 'motto' for Fourth and Goal.
'I have been a huge football fan my entire life,' Tracy Lawrence said. 'I think it is with great purpose that Fourth and Goal is generating an awareness surrounding the NFL players who are suffering from injuries and are now either unable to afford the treatment necessary, or unable to secure a job outside of their sports career, to sustain a normal lifestyle. I'm really excited in the opportunity to perform and raise money for Fourth and Goal-to lend a hand to help the legends with their hardships.'
With a sensational list of hits like 'Watermelon Crawl' and 'Holdin' Heaven,' Tracy Byrd has established himself as one of country music's biggest chart-toppers. With an overall thirteen top ten singles, Byrd celebrated gold status on five consecutive albums. His CD NO ORDINARY MAN was certified double platinum and held its position in the top ten on the charts for over 30 weeks. Byrd's recording of 'Keeper of the Stars' was recognized by the Academy of Country Music as "Song of the Year' in 1996.
Pat Green has proven himself to be a fan favorite; he sold 300,000 albums before he ever signed with a major label. Four top ten albums later, and with WAVE ON WAVE certified gold, Green was voted 'Best Male Artist' on About.com (2007). A three-time Grammy nominee, he has had nine charting singles including 'Dixie Lullaby' and 'Baby Doll.' He recently received the Crystal Cross award for his service to the American Red Cross.
Special guest, Rachel Bradshaw, the 20-year old daughter of legendary NFL quarterback and FOX NFL SUNDAY celebrity co-host Terry Bradshaw and a cast member on the reality series 'Nashville,' will make her Atlantic City debut at the Fourth & Goal Classic as country music's hottest newcomer to watch. Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long (Former Defensive Lineman for the Oakland Raiders and Pro Football Hall of Famer) will host the event.
'This year's Fourth & Goal Classic will be the first of many,' said Pro Football Hall of Famer John 'Hog' Hannah, formerly of the New England Patriots (1973'1985), named "The Best Offensive Lineman of All Time" (Sports Illustrated Magazine'1981) and Chief Executive Officer, John Hannah Entertainment, LLC. 'Most folks don't realize that after players walk off the field and into retirement that life goes on with bodily injuries and medical burdens that last a lifetime. It's our mission to come to the immediate aid of retired NFL players to ease the challenges and hardships they are faced with, and who are in dire financial need because of inadequate disability and/or pensions,' Hannah continued. 'This is not a welfare system. Fourth and Goal represents these players with a voice that will be heard in decisions that affect their lives. Our goal is to get them the benefits they deserve and have already earned just by playing the game. In addition to our fund raising activities, Fourth and Goal assists our friends in need to seek out opportunities outside of the football arena in which they may supplement their income.'
Other NFL celebrities who are expected to participate include: Harry Carson (New York Giants/Hall of Fame Linebacker), NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst, Ron Jaworski, Pro Football Hall of Fame Defensive End, Jack Youngblood, Ken "Snake" Stabler, Joe DeLamielleure, Bruce Laird and Charlie Waters.
Proceeds from the Fourth & Goal Classic will benefit Fourth and Goal.
