NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Universal Republic) - Universal Republic rock icons 3 Doors Down will release their fourth studio album May 6. The self-titled follow-up to their platinum-plus 2005 effort, Seventeen Days, embodies the fiery passion and creative maturation of a quintessential American rock band at the top of its game. The first single, 'It's Not My Time,' is scheduled to hit radio on February 19.

With nearly 13 million albums sold worldwide, the melodic/tough-around-the-edges Mississippi/Nashville-based band emerged at the top of the decade and rewrote the script for nailing down commercial success and securing rabid fan appeal without bowing to trends or compromising their grassroots approach.

Braced by frontman Brad Arnold's enduring vocal power, the group surprised the world with their 2000 major label multi-platinum debut album A Better Life. Epic No 1 singles followed, like the mega-hit signature 'Kryptonite,' 'Duck & Run,' and 'When I'm Gone,' (from 2003's spiraling epic Away From The Sun).

By mid-decade, 3 Doors Down had put the rock world on notice with a streak of blazing successes, notching never-before-reached mileposts like becoming the first debut act in Billboard history to have a No 1 single ('Kryptonite') at four different radio formats. Now considered one of the music world's most consistent front-and-center rock acts, other highpoints include an American Music Award in 2000 for Best New Artist, and two 2003 Billboard Music Awards for Best Rock/Pop Group and Best Hot 100 Single for the No 1 most played song of the year, the piercing 'When I'm Gone.'

Long hailed for their effervescent live show (known to strike up over 250 shows a year when the 3 Doors Down juggernaut is at full sail), the band has hinted that their upcoming new album was forged during an 'intense period of growth and soul searching' for the group, with early taste-testers calling it a 'defining, gut-driven' effort, stoking the embers of the band's interpersonal chemistry as well as its oft-mentioned stature as keepers of the heritage rock flame.

Fans eager to get a much-needed boost of the new 3 Doors Down won't have to wait much longer, with the new single 'It's Not My Time' already creating a behind-the-scenes and internet buzz even before its nationwide debut.
