NEW YORK, NY. (Top 40 Charts/ Ecast BarPulse) - The January Ecast BarPulse reveals that musical tastes in U.S. bars and clubs vary as much as the cocktails and the venues do. Ecast added thousands of songs to its broadband touchscreen media network in January. Rhythmic pop sensation, Natasha Bedingfield topped the charts this month with "Love Like This" but three of the top 10 spins came from alternative-rock band Mars Volta's new album "The Bedlam in Goliath." Country music of all stripes was also strongly represented by Willie Nelson, Chuck Wicks and alternative-country stalwarts Drive By Truckers. "The diversity of the Ecast audience rings through loud and clear as we see the results of this month's BarPulse," said Paul Koehler, label relations manager, Ecast. "From country and pop to R&B and rock, the selections on Ecast mirror the diversity and reach of our network." With more than 1,000 songs added weekly, Ecast keeps its finger on the pulse of nightclub and bar music and then issues a monthly ranking - called Ecast BarPulse - of the most popular song plays, nationwide, from that month's newly added content to the network.
