Brentwood, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Sparrow Records) - Sparrow Records and its affiliated artists are among the top nominees for the 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards. Winners will be announced April 23 during a ceremony broadcast live from Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House on the Gospel Music Channel (8 p.m. ET).

Chris Tomlin, the Gospel Music Association's Artist and Male Vocalist of the Year in 2006 and 2007, is a contender for those same awards in 2008 based on the continuing success of his gold-certified album, SEE THE MORNING. He is also nominated for Song of the Year ('Amazing Grace [My Chains Are Gone]'), Worship Song of the Year ('Amazing Grace,' 'How Great Is Our God'), and Special Event Album of the Year for his contribution to MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE MOTION PICTURE AMAZING GRACE.

Innovative rock and worship act David Crowder Bandis nominated for Group of the Year, Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song and Worship Song of the Year ('Everything Glorious'), Rock/Contemporary Album, Praise & Worship Album, and Recorded Music Packaging (REMEDY), Short Form Video ('Foreverandever, etc.'), and its part in the AMAZING GRACE inspired-by soundtrack.

Multi-platinum rock band Switchfoot nabbed four Dove nominations including Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year (OH! GRAVITY), Male Vocalist (Jon Foreman), and Rock/Contemporary Song and Short Form Video ('Awakening').

American Idol finalist and recent GRAMMY nominee Mandisa continues her undeniable breakthrough with nods for Best New Artist and Female Vocalist of the Year.
