NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ A&M/ Octone) - A&M/Octone artists FLYLEAF's self-titled debut album has been certified platinum by the RIAA for sales of one million copies. Currently their third single, "
All Around Me" is their highest- charting song to date, crossing over at Top 40 radio. With over 25 million plays on MySpace and 300,000 spins to date, Texas-bred FLYLEAF has already spawned two powerful singles, "I'm So Sick," and "
Fully Alive" both of which were played on major market active rock radio, modern rock radio, MTV 2, Fuse and Yahoo Music.
After headlining their own two-month Justice & Mercy Tour, harvesting a multitude of new fans on the 2007 Family Values Tour, and opening for Korn on their European tour this past winter - the band is now gearing up to co-headline their cross country, multi-city tour with Seether - kicking off April 8th in Denver. Entertainment Weekly recently paid credit to the band's relentless touring while Rolling Stone raves FLYLEAF "marries dark wounded lyrics with snarling, metallic guitars and machinelike drums."
FLYLEAF will be traveling to Rwanda with World Vision this March to experience first hand the work being done to address the current HIV/AIDS epidemic, in addition to World Vision's plans to provide aid in the aftermath of the 1994 Genocide. Upon their return to the US, FLYLEAF will be the flagship artist for World Vision's "Use Your Voice" campaign. With the band's partnership, the campaign will raise awareness and funding for programs that transform the lives of orphans and children in Africa who have been impacted by HIV/AIDS.
FLYLEAF - vocalist/lyricist Lacey Mosley, guitarists Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann, bassist Pat Seals, and drummer James Culpepper - have been playing together since 2002. Their debut album was produced by Howard Benson, (Papa Roach, My Chemical Romance, POD and The All-American Rejects.) Flyleaf released a CD/DVD special edition on 10/30 which includes the original album, five acoustic tracks, exclusive acoustic DVD footage and all music videos.
