NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - "RAISE THE DEAD," the eagerly awaited new album from Fueled By Ramen recording group Phantom Planet, has been made available for pre-order at the Fueled By Ramen webstore. Due in stores and at all online retailers on April 15th, the acclaimed rock combo's label debut can be pre-ordered in either CD or 12" vinyl form now via https://store.fueledbyramen.com. All fans will be able to download the band's new digital single, "Do The Panic," immediately upon purchase, and the first 500 to order will receive a limited edition souvenir "Pocket Duct Tape."
"Do The Panic," the first digital single release from "RAISE THE DEAD," is now on sale at all DSPs. In addition, "RAISE THE DEAD" is also currently available for pre-order via the iTunes Stores. Included with the iTunes package will be three exclusive bonus tracks culled from the "RAISE THE DEAD" sessions: "Ivory Daggers," "This Day On," and "What Are You Waiting For."
Phantom Planet will herald the new album with a jam-packed tour schedule that sees the Los Angeles-based band traveling North America through mid-June (see below itinerary). After making a number of appearances at the annual South by Southwest extravaganza in Austin, Texas, last week, Phantom Planet wraps up the month with a run of shows that include both headlining dates as well as performances alongside such artists as The Bravery and their new FBR labelmates, Paramore.
April will see Phantom Planet joining forces with Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen's own Panic At The Disco for the hugely anticipated 2008 Honda Civic Tour. The multi-artist bill will hit the ground running with a pair of sold-out shows at San Francisco's Warfield Theatre on April 10th and 11th, then traverse the continent through a June 14th finale at Anaheim's Theater at the Honda Center. Also appearing on the 2008 Honda Civic Tour will be Motion City Soundtrack and Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen recording group The Hush Sound.
Phantom Planet will warm up for the Honda Civic Tour with a high-profile, outdoor concert performance on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," slated for national broadcast on April 8th.
Produced by Tony Berg (Aimee Mann, Pete Yorn, Nickel Creek), "RAISE THE DEAD" effortlessly mixes Phantom Planet's '60s pop influence with a 21st century slant that's particularly refreshing in today's increasingly homogenous musical landscape. Tracks like the glam-happy "Do The Panic" or the orchestral psychedelia of "I Don't Mind" see the band taking inspiration from such iconic artists as David Bowie, Love, and the Zombies, then recontextualizing them into something completely, uniquely their own. The twelve extremely diverse and dynamic songs on "RAISE THE DEAD" reaffirm Phantom Planet as one of the modern era's most exciting and ingenious rock n' roll bands.
"RAISE THE DEAD" is Phantom Planet's fourth full-length collection, following 1998's highly-praised "PHANTOM PLANET IS MISSING," 2002's "THE GUEST" (which included the now-classic "California," known far and wide as the theme song to Fox's "The O.C."), and 2004's "PHANTOM PLANET." The band has earned a reputation as a hard-touring live act, traveling the globe as both headline act and as support to such artists as Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Guided By Voices, Travis, Pete Yorn, the Vines, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the Donnas, Incubus, and Rilo Kiley.
