SANTA MONICA, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Savoy Label Group) - "The
Osmonds 50th Anniversary Reunion Concert Live in Las Vegas," one of PBS' top pledge drive programs this season, is available in stores today on DVD as well as the companion CD. The Osmond family recently reunited to celebrate a historic 50th anniversary and performed live together for the first time in 27 years at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las
Vegas last year. The reunion has sparked a whole new wave of "Osmondmania" - the family has recently appeared on "Oprah," "Larry King Live," "Good Morning America," "Dancing With The Stars" and "Entertainment Tonight." Upcoming activities include a tour of the UK and Southeast Asia and a flurry of TV, movie and album projects. The DVD, CD and special Collector's Edition packages of this historic evening are released through Denon Records (www.denonrecordsus.com/osmonds).
Produced by Jimmy Osmond, the special is a lively mix of The Osmonds' biggest hits in all of their incarnations, incorporating video clips and guest artists such as Andy Williams (on whose 60's television program the family first came to national attention). The Osmond Brothers' hit songs "One Bad Apple," "Lazy River," "Proud One," "We're Having A Party," "Double Loving" and "Yo Yo" are performed as well as Donny's solo hits "Puppy Love," "Breeze On By" and "Soldier Of Love." Marie takes a turn with her hit "Paper Roses" as well as a medley of Broadway tunes and Donny teams up with her to perform their hits "I'm Leaving It All Up To You," "Little Bit Country And Little Bit Rock And Roll" and "It Takes Two." Jimmy also gets a solo turn performing his No 1 chart-topper "Long Haired Lover From Liverpool." The limited Collector's Edition 2-DVD set contains a bonus disc with 5 exclusive performances, rare footage, interviews with the family and a Marie Osmond solo medley.
