LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Live Nation) - Live Nation, the world's largest live music company, announced today a preliminary slate of summer tours and performances by some of the world's greatest artists.

"This summer we are staging concerts in more than 30 countries around the world," said Michael Rapino, President and Chief Executive Officer of Live Nation. "We expect a very strong season as our global platform will be fully utilized by an anticipated 7,500 shows during our busiest season. That means that from May 1st until the end of September we will produce an average of nearly 50 shows per day - that's one every half hour, 24 hours a day - a volume which illustrates the unparalleled capacity of our global promotion and marketing infrastructure. By the end of the summer, we currently anticipate that we will have sold more than 27 million concert tickets worldwide."

In the United States and Canada, Live Nation is currently scheduled to produce the following tours:

The North American summer tour lineup comes on the heels of some hugely successful first and second quarter Live Nation tours of North America by Jonas Brothers, who recently finished up a 39-date Winter/Spring tour, Van Halen, who are in the midst of a 36-date 2008 run, and Mary J. Blige and JAY- Z's "Heart of the City" trek, which is currently enjoying a 28-date, largely sold-out North American run.
