ATLANTA, Georgia (Hip-Hop Tunes Online Magazine) - R&B singer Bobby Brown was arrested early Thursday (Nov. 7) morning in Atlanta on drug and traffic charges, according to a spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department.

Brown was initially pulled over for speeding in his Cadillac Escalade between 2 and 3 a.m. in the trendy Buckhead area of the city. Upon further investigation, police allegedly found marijuana in the vehicle. Brown was charged with speeding, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, and having no driver's license or proof of insurance.

Brown posted $1,300 bond this morning at the Atlanta Pre-Trial Detention Center and is due in court on Dec. 12 to face the charges. However, because of an outstanding warrant in nearby Dekalb County for failing to appear at a 1996 traffic court hearing, he was transferred to the Dekalb County Jail.

Bobby Brown had posted a separate $10,000 bond for Dekalb County and was released. He is due in Dekalb County State Court on Friday (Nov. 8) to answer the charges in that county.

This is merely the latest chapter in Brown's continuing string of run-ins with law enforcement and/or hospitals. The former New Edition star collapsed at his home due to dehydration and exhaustion in 2001, and did time in a Florida jail in 2000 after violating the rules of his probation stemming from a 1996 drunk driving incident.
