Craig Chaquico was the lead guitarist and also songwriter, producer and arranger of the legendary multi-platinum Jefferson Starship/Starship (1973-1990), one of the top ten most successful acts in rock history. Chaquico will showcase music from his million-selling contemporary instrumental solo CDs as well as the classic stadium rock hits that he wrote for Jefferson Starship.
Omar Lopez, a native of Austin, and his band will open the show and perform songs from his first two albums - "FOREVER RED" (released in 2005) and "EXPERIENCE" (released in 2007) - as well as new material from his as-yet-untitled, unreleased third album. The up-and-coming violinist, singer, and composer recently added an appearance as a featured opening act for 80s rock icon Pat Benatar to his ever-growing list of accolades, which already includes performances alongside international Latin music superstar Jose Feliciano and Broadway legend Jennifer Holliday ("Dreamgirls"). Omar's music has garnered critical acclaim in classical crossover and new age music communities around the globe, and his signature fusion of classical, jazz, rock, Latin, R&B, and electronica - along with his passionate performance style - are mirrored by the members of his six-piece backing ensemble.
