New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - The "Bard of Barking," Billy Bragg will bring his solo show to American audiences in June. Bragg will perform songs from his stellar new album 'Mr. Love Justice' (Anti-), his first solo album in six years. Released last month it has been receiving rave reviews with Paste Magazine describing it as "a leap forward in maturity, depth and nuance" and Billboard calling it "his most satisfying original collection since 1991's "Don't Try This at Home" Billy recently completed a string of dates through Europe. Of his hometown gig at London's Roundhouse, The Sunday Telegraph said "after two hours of fury, intrigue, wistfulness, plain speaking and lusty good cheer, [Bragg] rattles through his encore with undimmed, scrapping relish, as if he's only just begun to fight, and there's so much to fight for, and against." The tour also included a songwriting workshop and performance at the Walton Penitentiary in Liverpool, England as part of Billy's Jail Guitar Doors foundation, a charity that brings musical instruments to prison inmates.
