(Top40 Charts/ Roadrunner Records) - On June 24th, UK phenomenon The Wombats will see the official US release of their album, A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation - a record that has already taken the UK and Europe by storm over the last few months. The album is stuffed to the brim with high-energy, UK poppy-punk anthems like "Let's Dance To Joy Division," " Moving To New York" and "Backfire At The Disco." Right now, if you pre-order the CD from our good friends at Bull Moose (bullmoose.com) you'll also get a CD booklet signed by the band with your purchase! Supplies are limited so hurry over! About the band: Humorous pop-punk bands are a mainstay of many large towns, so it takes something more for one to break into the mainstream. Enter the Wombats, a three-man cross between Art Brut's Wire-like fractured art-punk and Half Man Half Biscuit's wicked Liverpudlian humor. They comprise two native Liverpudlians; front man Matthew Murphy, provider of vocals, guitar and keyboards, drummer and b-vocalist Dan Haggis and bass and additional vocalist Tord Overland Knudsen, a Norwegian who has made his home in the city. The three met at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. The school gave them the chance to play gigs to over 20,000 people in China. Now a thousand times that many people love them... madly.
