NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Universal Republic) - Acclaimed Universal Republic rock band 3 Doors Down topped the Billboard 200 chart this week for the second time in their career.
The self-titled effort, 3 Doors Down, their fourth studio release, arrives as another rock masterpiece in the 3 Doors Down canon, a more-than-worthy follow-up to their multi-platinum 2005 album, Seventeen Days, which also debuted at No 1.
The band has also clinched the No 1 spot on the Top Current Rock Albums and the Current Alternative charts with the latest release. The Mississippi fivesome's new single has also been confirmed a smash hit by U.S. rock audiences, soaring toward the Top 5 of radio rock charts as it clocks in as one of the fastest moving rock hits in the history of the Active Rock radio format.

The new album is garnering the band across-the-board critical acclaim, with the Associated Press affirming that '3 Doors Down has offered the strongest collection of their career..,' and Billboard magazine hailing the CD as a 'landmark' effort,' in an already multi-platinum career.'

Drawing on one of the most compelling and radio-friendly repertoires of the past decade (the band has sold an incredible 13 million albums worldwide), the tireless rockers will be rolling out several songs from the new 3 Doors Down album on a brand new tour this summer. The 3 Doors Down Summer Tour With Staind and Hinder presented by Wrigley's Extra Fruit Sensations is scheduled to kick off on July 9 in Maryland Heights, MO. The trek (scheduled dates included below; more dates forthcoming) will embody the fiery passion and innovative stagecraft fans have come to expect from the versatile band. These 3 Doors Down trademarks have made the group one of the most successful touring bands of the contemporary rock era. The melodic/tough-around-the-edges Mississippi/Nashville-based quintet first thundered into the rock scene at the top of the decade, redefining the music landscape with their across-the-board smash "Kryptonite." Their 6 million selling 2000 debut album The Better Life epitomized their signature sound, establishing the band as top-notch songwriters and a roaring live outfit that has gone on to consistently play more than 200 shows a year. In

show of gratitude to all rock n' roll fans, 3 Doors Down will be taking on the hard-hit economy on this year's summer jaunt, creating flexible, fan-friendly ticket prices that will vary in price, starting at $25 at most venues.
