Sydney, AU. (Top40 Charts/ EMI MUSIC Australia) - After memorable main-stage appearances at this year's Big Day Out,
Something With Numbers have been in New York recording their third album 'Engineering the Soul', and with a release date now confirmed for
September 6 the band are heading back out on the road in July for a select number of gigs along the East Coast.
'Engineering the Soul' is the third album from the local five-piece and was recorded over nine weeks at Mission Sound Studios, Brooklyn, in March with respected producer Tim O'Heir (Dinosaur Jr., All American Rejects, Say Anything).
The mature-sounding first single 'Stay With Me Bright Eyes' - which goes to radio next week - shows Something with Numbers continually redefining their sound on 'Engineering The Soul' and is an emphatic coming-of-age for the quintet. Says lead singer Jake Grigg, 'Music is what powers the soul. We make the music. We are engineering the soul'.
Fans will have the opportunity to hear the new songs, along with the band's renowned crowd pleasers like 'Apple Of The Eye (Lay Me Down)', during June/July. Tickets are on sale now for the following dates -

Formed on the Central Coast of New South Wales seven years ago, Something With Numbers have built their success from the ground up. Largely unburdened by hype, their unique melodic rock vision was developed through 2002's 'Barnicles And Stripes' EP and the 2004 full-length 'Etiquette'. In 2006 everything changed, as Something With Numbers found themselves rocketed to an unprecedented position thanks to their inspired second album, 'Perfect Distraction' - which garnered them a 2007 ARIA Award nomination for 'Breakthrough Artist' - and its impossibly catchy lead single 'Apple Of The Eye (Lay Me Down)'.
