Sydney, AU. (Top40 Charts/ EMI MUSIC Australia) - With Australia's premier songwriters' event just days away, Musichead is proud to confirm details of special music guests who will perform and present at the 2008 APRA Music Awards on Monday June 16th at the Hilton Sydney.

In a twist this year, the 5 nominated songs in the APRA Song of the Year category will be celebrated as they are performed by special guest artists. Yes, that means Silverchair's Daniel Johns won't be performing this year's best contender for Song of the Year, "Straight Lines"

Instead, Sally Seltman of New Buffalo will be performing the epic track, which was written by the multi-platinum Newcastle boys from Silverchair. New Buffalo was responsible for another APRA Song of the Year nominee, "1234" which was made popular by Canadian artist Feist.

If you haven't scored tickets for this year's event, music TV broadcast partner MAX will capture the evening in a one-hour special called "They Write The Songs". Featuring interviews and performances from the 2008 APRA Awards, They Write The Songs will screen exclusively on pay television channel MAX at 8:30pm on Monday 30 June.

Special guest presenters at the 2008 APRA Music Awards will include Paul Mac, Julian Hamilton, Katalyst, Dylan Lewis, Urthboy, Kram, The McClymonts, Marcia Hines, Paul McDermott, The Hon Peter Garrett AM MP, and music promoter Michael Coppell.
