NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Nickelodeon/ Columbia Records) - iCarly - Music from and Inspired by the Hit TV Show, the album of music and dialogue from the popular live-action TEENick series starring tween TV sensation Miranda Cosgrove, has just debuted at No 1 on the Billboard Top Kid Audio album chart and No 1 on the SoundScan Top Children's Current album sales chart.

The iCarly album has also entered the Billboard and SoundScan Top Soundtrack albums charts at No 2 (second only to the "Sex & the City" soundtrack) while debuting on the Billboard 200 albums chart at No 28 with a bullet designating an album with significant airplay and sales gains this week.

News of the chart-topping success of iCarly - Music from and Inspired by the Hit TV Show comes hot on the heels of the ratings bonanza surrounding the June 13 premiere of iCarly's first-ever super-sized episode, iCarly Saves TV, which ranked as the week's No 1 entertainment show [non-sports] in total viewers on basic cable television. The program was also No 1 for the week across all of Nick's key demos - tweens 9-14, kids 6-11 and kids 2-11 - on both broadcast and basic cable television. Overall, for the year to date, the iCarly series currently ranks as the number three show with tweens on all broadcast and basic cable, only behind American Idol and Nick's own Zoey 101 (Source: NMR). With the nation's No 1 cable entertainment show and No 1 children's album in the same week, iCarly is shaping up as a bona fide multi-platform cultural phenomenon.

iCarly - Music from and Inspired by the Hit TV Show premieres four new tracks from Miranda Cosgrove, marking the artist's first recordings since signing with Columbia Records earlier this year as part of the ongoing global partnership between Nickelodeon and the Sony Music Label Group. The album showcases songs inspired by iCarly from top artists like Avril Lavigne, Natasha Bedingfield, Good Charlotte, Sean Kingston and debuts a brand-new, exclusive recording from The Naked Brothers Band, stars of the Nick hit live-action series of the same name.

iCarly - Music from and Inspired by the Hit TV Show includes Miranda Cosgrove's performance of the series' theme song, "Leave It All To Me" (featuring Drake Bell), which spent three weeks charting recently on the Billboard Hot 100. The hit song has averaged a four-plus star rating with customers on iTunes while charting consistently on the music store's Pop listings.

One of the year's most eagerly-awaited album releases, iCarly - Music from and Inspired by the Hit TV Show debuts new tracks and mixes from contemporary music's most exciting recording artists and is available in three configurations:

1. Standard Softpack: 14 songs plus cast recorded dialogue, includes Connected technology

2. Deluxe Fan Pack: 17 songs plus cast recorded dialogue, includes Connected technology

3. Wal-Mart Deluxe Fan Pack: Available exclusively at Wal-Mart, this version includes the Deluxe Fan Pack with the addition of iCarly Extra Scoops, a 30-minute DVD of outtakes and cast interviews from the set of iCarly.

iCarly - Music from and Inspired by the Hit TV Show is a product of the development and production partnership between Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, and the Sony Music Label Group and the Sony BMG Commercial Music Group.

iCarly, one of the most watched live-action premieres in Nickelodeon history, is the highest-rated program on all of TV in its time slot with kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14. Since its launch, kids have uploaded more than 110,000 videos to the iCarly.com website, and the site has received more than 11.6 million visits and averaged 2.8M monthly visitors in the first quarter of 2008 alone.

iCarly stars Miranda Cosgrove as Carly Shay, a teenager who lives with her twenty-something brother/guardian Spencer (Jerry Trainor) and produces webcasts from a makeshift loft studio with pals Sam (Jennette McCurdy) and Freddie (Nathan Kress). iCarly is TV's only scripted series ever to let kids contribute by incorporating videos they created to showcase their unusual talents.

Cosgrove, 15, nabbed her first TV series and feature film at age nine: She was cast first as Megan Parker, the deceptively sweet, scamming sister on Drake & Josh and soon after as Summer Hathaway, the over-achieving preppy manager of Jack Black's rock band on the big screen in School of Rock. Her other film credits include the '05 feature-film release Yours, Mine and Ours from Paramount Pictures/Nickelodeon Movies and Keeping up with the Steins.

iCarly was created by Dan Schneider, the creative force behind other Nickelodeon hits including Emmy Award-nominated Zoey 101, Drake & Josh, The Amanda Show, Kenan & Kel and All That. Called "the Norman Lear of children's television" by The New York Times, Schneider created the WB's What I Like About You and wrote and co-produced the film Big Fat Liar.
