Los Angeles, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Natives Of The New Dawn Official Website) - Embarking on their most ambitious DIY tour to date, Natives of the New Dawn TOURMERICA 2008 summer tour makes 27 stops across the country, including 7 dates on the Van's Warped Tour, appearing on the Ernie Ball
Music Man Stage on all West Coast dates.
Natives of the New Dawn started making a name for themselves in their hometown of Detroit, MI in 2004. Immediately catching fire locally, Natives received 16 Detroit Music Awards nominations (2004-2006), while putting on sold out shows at such renowned venues as Saint Andrew's Hall, The Majestic Theatre and The Avalon in Boston, MA.
Described as a 'Motown inspired rock hip-hop mash up' (tmz.com), Natives eclectic sound, and engaging live shows are better described as a simple love and passion for music, performing, and entertaining.
Since their inception in 2004, Natives have embarked upon three years of heavy independent touring. Highlights include being named 'one of the best unsigned bands in North America' by Ernie Ball Music Man for their participation in their Warped Tour Battle of the Bands 10 (2006), three consecutive summer's on the Van's Warped Tour, and a second place performance in Germany as part of the Emergenza International Music Festival, which included 10,000 artists from 13 countries competing for the slot.
2007 marked another groundbreaking year for the New Dawn, who moved to Los Angeles to record their 2007 release Bliss before hitting the road again in summer of 2007 for a 35-date tour that included 15 stops on the Van's Warped Tour.
This summer's TOURMERICA marks Natives first full scale national tour of 2008 after making a return spring run to select Pacific North West markets this past April. Proving to be the model for the newly liberated working indie band, Natives continue to show signs of success independently in a defunct record industry where Majors continue to loose, but a wide open market is allowing talented bands like Natives the opportunity to take advantage of resources once not available to them without the Major's support. In the wake of this industry turmoil Natives have been creating opportunities for themselves using their own due diligence and ingenuity to shine light on a new dawn in the music industry. Mark the date, TOURMERICA is the can't miss indie summer tour of 2008.
