NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Manhattan/ Back Porch Records) - SHE AIN'T ME, Carrie Rodriguez's second solo album and follow-up to 2006's critically-acclaimed SEVEN ANGELS ON A BICYCLE will be released on Manhattan/Back Porch on August 5, 2008.
The Austin-born and Berklee trained violinist-turned-fiddler enlisted Malcolm Burn (Emmylou Harris, Kaki King, Patti Smith) to produce, and according to Rodriguez, "Malcolm was extremely passionate. I felt like he had 100% of his energy and spirit going into this project."
SHE AIN'T ME contains eleven stunning new songs, ten written or co-written by Carrie Rodriguez.
"Because I took some chances, wrote with some new people and actually co-wrote most of the songs on the album, it's very different," said Rodriguez. Co-writers include Gary Louris (The Jayhawks), Dan Wilson (Semisonic, Dixie Chicks), Jim Boquist (Son Volt) and Mary Gauthier. The core of Rodriguez's touring band - Hans Holzen (guitar) and Kyle Kegerreis (bass) - were augmented by great performances from Malcolm Burn (keys), Aaron Comess (drums), Greg Leisz (pedal & lap steel guitars), Gary Louris (background vocals & acoustic guitar), and Lucinda Williams who appears as a guest vocalist singing back-up on "Mask of Moses."

Rodriguez taped her first Austin City Limits performance which begins airing on October 25, 2008. The show also features Jakob Dylan. "I grew up watching Austin City Limits" Rodriguez said, "so this was a dream come true for me - definitely the highlight of my musical career so far." Rodriguez is on tour in support of SHE AIN'T ME and Fall dates will include an opening slot with label-mate Alejandro Escovedo.
