LOS ANGELES (VH1) - VH1 will present a tribute to Run-D.M.C. and the late Jam Master Jay during the network's "VH1 Big in 2002 Awards," which premieres on VH1 on Sunday, December 15 at 9:00 pm, ET/PT.

Rap legends Grand Master Flash, Chuck D and Kid Rock are scheduled to perform during the tribute, which will highlight the legacy of one of hip-hop's most influential pioneers.

The tribute will also feature the presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be accepted by Jam Master Jay's Run-D.M.C. partners Reverend Run and D.M.C.

The "VH1 Big in 2002 Awards" will package the year's best (and otherwise) in music, movies, TV and personalities and put it all into a neat two-hour time-capsule. With categories like "Can't Get You Out of My Head" (the year's most ubiquitous song,) "Do I Look Fat In This Fight?" (girls who kick ass,) and "Been Caught Scene Stealin'" (the year's most unexpected stand-out movie performance,) the two-hour awards show will instantly chronicle those moments and people that captivated and inspired us in 2002.

Drea De Matteo and Michael Imperioli, renowned for their roles as troubled lovers "Adrianna" and "Christopher" on the year's hottest television series HBO series "Sopranos," will host the "VH1 Big in 2002 Awards." Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, Norah Jones and John Mayer are all scheduled to perform.

The show will be filmed at Los Angeles' Grand Olympic Auditorium. The year-end special features live musical performances, celebrity presenters and special guests. Winners will be decided by a panel of tastemakers from the worlds of entertainment, sports and government, as well as heavy pop culture consumers from everyday life; with select categories decided by online voting.
