NY (Reuters) - Moby's Area:One festival closed Sunday (August 5) in Devore, California. Performances by New Order with Billy Corgan, Outkast, Rinocerose, Paul Oakenfold, the Beatnuts, the Roots, the Orb, Timo Maas, and Moby himself capped off the tour.

Moby is hoping that there will be an Area:Two show next year, in spite of the fact that the tour experienced a few obstacles this year. "From my perspective the biggest obstacle has been the fact that a lot of the people who are involved in promoting the show don't know what kind of show it is," he said.
"Because normally when you're a concert promoter you promote a rock show or a dance event and the fact that it has a dance and a rave component to it, it also has a rock component, a hip-hop component, and a pop component. It's all these things rolled into one. A lot of the promoters at first seemed taken aback by just how diverse the show was."

Moby added that with Area:One he wanted to prove a point to radio, the record labels, and the music community that people's musical tastes are not as rigid as some in the industry believe.
