NEW YORK (Metallica Fans Website) - We now know one thing about Metallica's future: The band will probably have a new bass player in its lineup by late June.
That's when the group will play Denmark's Roskilde Festival, which takes place June 26-29. Festival organizers say it will be Metallica's only date in Scandinavia this year, although the group is reportedly planning a world tour to coincide with the release of its next album.

Metallica is currently in the studio with producer Bob Rock. The band reportedly has 30 songs ready to record and is choosing the final tracklist from among them.

Metallica has also been quietly auditioning new bass players to replace Jason Newsted, who left the group in 2001.
