LONDON, UK (Djs news) - As coincidence would have it, the song Jewel is singing for Chicane is titled 'Spirit'. Jewel titled her 1998 album 'Spirit' but there was no title track. Chicane aka Nick Bracegirdle is one of the core acts of the Ibiza sound and has ventured outside the square before using Bryan Adams on his previous record. "People have this idea that you're only capable of one thing, I want to do everything from film scores to pop music, I've never been one for music snobbery" he says. The previous collaborator of Chicane was Maire Brennan of Irish folk group Clannad. 'Saltwater' notched up 5 simultaneous dance chart No 1's before entering the UK national chart in June 1999, at No 6. Chicane's 'Don't Give Up' featuring Bryan Adams was the first track to make Radio 1 history, appearing as an Essential New Tune twice on Pete Tong's Essential Selection before storming in at No 1 on the UK national chart. The Jewel / Chicane collaboration is expected by the middle of 2003.
