EMAP to drop Pepsi Chart in favour of Smash Hits

LONDON, UK (Smash Hits) - EMAP has announced its FM radio stations are to drop the Pepsi Chart.

Instead the companies' radio stations will broadcast a brand new Smash Hits Chart Show presented by former Radio 1 host Mark Goodier.
The show will launch on January 5.

The Smash Hits Chart will allow radio listeners, TV viewers and web users to influence the chart position of their favourite acts by phone voting or texting for a particular track.
The votes combined with MRIB sales data, radio airplay and request data from interactive music TV channels,
The Box and Smash Hits, will determine a single's chart position.

More than 5 million radio listeners will be able to tune into the Smash Hits Chart via Emap's radio stations including London-based Kiss 100, Key 103 in Manchester, Radio Aire in Leeds and Radio City in Liverpool.
They will also hear the chart on Smash Hits and Kiss DAB digital radio.
EMAP own Smash HIts magazine, Smash Hits TV and The Box.
