Chapel Hill, NC. (Top40 Charts/ Glass Onyon PR) - Award winning singer/songwriter Tokyo Rosenthal has recently released a new CD with a "pro" gay marriage blues rocker called "Love Won Out". The tune, which is also the title track of the CD, has a sound reminiscent of the Allman Bros. and heartfelt lyrics lauding the recent decision in California to legalize gay unions.

"Don't ask don't tell, can go to Hell, 'cause Love Won Out"

Rosenthal was inspired to write the song when he read a recent essay in Newsweek by famed writer Anna Quindlen. "I thought the words 'Love Won Out' summed up the recent victory for gay marriage", said Rosenthal. "I was on a plane and before I landed the song was finished. I hope it becomes a rallying cry for legal gay unions world wide."

Additional inspiration came from his brother's death due to Aids 20 years ago. "My brother contracted the disease long before the 'drug cocktails' came along. I had to go to Tijuana to smuggle drugs in to try and help him but it was too late", Rosenthal recalls. "I believe he'd be happy with this tune and it's message and he would likely be looking to 'legalize' his relationship had he lived." The song is dedicated to his late brother on the album liner notes.

"Using Democracy's tools, we learned in school, Love Won Out"

Rosenthal looks forward to performing the song to both gay and straight audiences on his upcoming tours of the U.S. and Europe. He's tested it out locally in his hometown area of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and the response has been great. "The audience tends to sing along on the choruses and dance to it", added Tokyo. "Everyone wanted to know how to get a copy!"
