7th Sun describe their music as 'Supernova Rock' - a fusion of sound that runs the gamut from classic rock, progressive rock, funk rock, to alternative rock/jam band. FROM THE BEGINNING is a high-energy concept album; the band's instrumental firepower - with lyrics that juxtapose the uplifting idealism and the unknown darkness of modern-day culture - is driving this album into the subterranean rock market of the music industry.
7th Sun is fronted by 22-year-old musical wunderkind, JT Curtis (lead vocals, lead guitar, main songwriter). Curtis' musical beginnings started at an early age; his burning desire to play music has taken him from California to Austin, Texas; to New York City, where 7th Sun performed recently at renowned music spot, Kenny's Castaways, on Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village. Curtis has also written production music for CBS television, and other music houses in L.A. and in NYC.
Adam Kury (bass/co-lead vocals) provides the melodic influences and intense rhythms that drive the band. Kury also performs with the grunge band, Candlebox. Stephen Quadros (drums/backing vocals) provides intensity, precision, and originality. Quadros is also known throughout the world as 'The Fight Professor,' a title he procured as a broadcaster for EliteXC mixed martial art shows seen on Showtime. Michael Russeck is the band's very talented young keyboardist, playing organ, piano and lending a hand with vocals. Russeck is also an accomplished painter and aspiring actor.
"7th Sun really rocks. The band is an original rock 'n' roll blues band featuring the powerful songwriting and musicianship of JT Cutis. Its music is rooted in the classic rock of honest artists like the Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, and Derek and the Dominos, but with its spiraling guitars, driving rhythms, and gutsy vocals, the quintet led by JT Curtis soars into a new future of rock 'n' roll." - Steve Isreal (Syndicated Music Critic )
Watch for upcoming Southland area shows by this promising band.
