John Michael Montgomery hopes to continue his past success with the release of his tenth studio album, Time Flies, on October 14, 2008. Produced by Montgomery and Byron Gallimore, Time Flies marks Montgomery 's first release in four years and the first for Montgomery 's flagship label, Stringtown Records. Time Flies is an eleven song collection featuring one song co-written by Montgomery, 'Brothers Till the End.' According to Montgomery the album was aptly named becoming a sort of retrospective look at his career. 'I took themes from different eras of my career along with sounds that influenced me over my life to create this album. There are the serious songs, some with tongue-in-cheek humor, a little romance as well as some that reflect a philosophical side. You'll hear influences from the Eagles to Lionel Richie to traditional country.'
Fans can catch up with Montgomery by tuning in to GAC throughout the month of October. The network will be airing interviews on programs such as 'GAC Nights,' 'The Collection,' 'Master Series,' and 'On the Streets.' He also sat down with Country Weekly for an exclusive interview for their October 20 issue.
Montgomery spends October 14 in Greenville , North Carolina , meeting fans at an area Walmart. He continues the tour in Raleigh , Knoxville , Montgomery , Houston , Oklahoma City and Wichita . Fan can purchase a special edition of the album exclusively at Walmart that includes the video for his first single, 'If You Ever Went Away.' On October 18, John visits fans at an Ocala , Florida , Gander Mountain and on October 21, he'll visit with the military at Fort Hood , Texas .
The new single, 'Forever,' is quickly climbing the charts. Written by James T. Slater, it was a song that grabbed Montgomery right from the start. 'It's a pure power ballad; pure John Michael. It chases both sides - the sensitive side and that rock side. I think the thing just rocks.'
