New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - It may sound presumptuous to call The Hold Steady the best band in America, but it just keeps happening. Paste said it, Maxim said it, and with a slew of praise for their fourth album 'Stay Positive' (Vagrant), The Hold Steady have released one of the best albums of the year, and now in major cities across the US they will be playing to some of their biggest audiences to date.

The album netted the band their highest Billboard chart position to date, No 30 on the Top 200, and they are getting ready to kick off a co-headlining US tour with the Drive-By Truckers on October 30. Performing at large theaters with multiple nights in New York, Minneapolis, Seattle and San Francisco, the band will be playing to more people than ever before.

'One of the best bands in America' -Paste

'Behold the best band in America.' -Maxim (5 stars)

'Unstoppable' -New York Times

'Storytelling and classic riff propulsion in full flower.' -Rolling Stone (4 stars)

'Nearly Perfect' -Entertainment Weekly (A)

'Contrary to their name The Hold Steady just keep getting better.' -Associated Press

'You won't find many albums in the current realm of rock-and-roll more exciting than the Hold Steady's 'Stay Positive.'' -Washington Post

'A fully engaging ride that sparkles with surprises' -USA Today
