LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Back Porch Records) - Known for his enigmatic and engaging live shows, Texas rocker Alejandro Escovedo will release a live EP 'Live Animal' on November 11, 2008, featuring a selection of stellar tracks from his latest release 'Real Animal' (EMI/Manhattan/Back Porch).

A masterful storyteller, Escovedo blends introspective ballads with shattering blasts of punk rock and string quintets. On 'Live Animal', Escovedo breathes life into his autobiographical tales and showcases the raw emotion and compelling power behind his music.

Featured tracks include: 'Always A Friend' - a song Escovedo has performed with Bruce Springsteen, 'Sister Lost Soul' - recently performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, 'People (We're Only Gonna Live So Long)' - a song he performed live at the Democratic National Convention, 'Chelsea Hotel '78" - about his time living at the famed rock hotel alongside Sid & Nancy and 'Real As An Animal' - an homage to Iggy Pop.

All tracks on 'Live Animal' were recorded live in New York City at the Sirius Satellite Radio studios.

Heralded as 'a collaborative triumph' by Rolling Stone, Escovedo's 'Live Animal' has also been dubbed 'the finest album of a career already marked by impressive quality' in a 4-star review from USA TODAY and was featured in TIME Magazine's 'Five Things You Should Know About'.
'Live Animal' brings Escovedo full circle and takes fans one step further giving them the incomparable live experience he has perfected over his 30 year career.
Touring in support of both releases, you can catch Escovedo live!
