New York, NY. (Top 40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - New York singer/songwriter Milton has been described as a writer's writer, capable of elegantly simple narratives about the complex wonders of life. He'll be steeped in Oxford, Mississippi's rich literary tradition, home to legendary writers including Willam Faulkner, when he performs on the Thacker Mountain Radio Show, Oxford's original music and literature radio show, on Thursday, November 20.
A Prairie Home Companion-esque music and literary hour with a Southern twist, Milton will be appearing along with guests including noted author and humorist Roy Blount, Jr. and John Hodgman, known for his personification of a PC in Apple commercials.

Milton's new CD 'Grand Hotel' is a narrative of a dozen stories, songs painting vivid moving pictures of American life using elements of country, blues, folk and rock. The distinctive idiom of his lyrics is what takes Milton's music into truly original territory. 'Grand Hotel' was recorded in Minneapolis with producer Bo Ramsey (Lucinda Williams, Iris Dement, Greg Brown) and engineer Tom Tucker (Prince, Mavis Staples). The new CD highlights Milton's indelible songwriting and scratchy b-side vocals, a sonic combination the New York Daily News describes as "paradise found."
Earning comparisons to many of his heroes - Van Morrison and Nick Lowe - Milton has distinguished himself with his unique voice and lyrics, a compelling mix of grit and grammar. Sharing bills with artists including Shelby Lynne, James Hunter, Norah Jones and Jamie Cullum, Milton and his excellent band are known for their soulful and energetic live shows, featuring the songs that crowds have come to know and sing along to in sold-out performances.
