NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Indaba Music) - Nettwerk Music Group, led by progressive founder, Terry McBride, Universal Music Canada, Canada's leading music company, and Indaba Music, the leading collaboration tool and social network for musicians, announced today their partnership surrounding the Spring 2009 release of YES! by Canadian hip-hop visionary, K-OS. This partnership represents a new album model in which each company separately generates the content, marketing, and distribution platform all for one joint release.

'It's important that a musical artist create an authentic and respectful relationship between themselves and their fans,' said Terry McBride, founder and CEO of Nettwerk Music Group. 'K-OS' understanding of this relationship has allowed him to open up his own creative process to engage his fans on a real emotional and fun level.'

Today, master stems from the eleven tracks off of K-OS' upcoming release, YES!, have been made available to Indaba Music's international community of over 100,000 musicians. On February 3, 2009, submissions will close and K-OS will select his favourite mixes from each track's submissions to win both $1,000 and a spot on Universal's companion release.

'We've spent the last 18 months empowering musicians around the world to redefine how music can be created,' said Matthew Siegel, co-CEO and co-founder of Indaba Music. 'This progress has huge implications for the ways that albums are produced, promoted, and monetized, and we're excited to be demonstrating a new, more engaging and exciting model with K-OS, Nettwerk, and Universal.'
